Dear Potential New Member,

My name is Priscilla and I’m the Member Recruitment Chair of Phi Sigma Sigma’s Beta Xi chapter here at Cornell.

I am so excited for Formal Recruitment this January, as are all of my sisters. We are truly looking forward to welcoming you into our home on 14 South Avenue and getting to know you! Recruitment week is one of the most anticipated events of the year here at Phi Sig and we can’t wait for the opportunity to further grow our chapter. We hope you are just as excited as us! If you are still unsure or nervous about Recruitment however- that’s okay too. We have all been in your shoes and understand how you feel. I promise you though, recruitment is an extremely rewarding and life changing opportunity.  Phi Sig has given me not only a sisterhood, but also a home. And I know my sisters feel the same.

Joining Phi Sig has easily been the best decision I’ve made since coming to Cornell (Yes, it even beats out my first trip to the Dairy Bar).  I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for all of the friendships I’ve formed and memories I’ve made through this sorority. Phi Sig is an incredibly unique group of women, with sisters of many different majors and interests who are involved all across campus. With sisterhood events that range anywhere from a movie night to a henna spa to a Mario Kart Tournament- there always seems to be something happening at 14 South Ave. We also have several Philanthropy events throughout the year, including our Night at the Museum Gala and Recess, all which help raise money for the Kids In Need Foundation.

Recruitment is an incredible experience that is best enjoyed with an open mind (and warm boots!). With 13 Panhellenic Chapters, we are an unbelievably diverse community in which everyone can find a home. The Panhellenic Community is a group of incredibly bright and driven women and while I am eternally grateful to be a part of it, I am also excited for you to join it as well.

Best of luck and see you soon!
